I’ve been dreading the inevitable pre-summer self tan testing; in previous years I’ve spent weeks with legs a different shade to arms, wreathed in streaks and mishaps, and with a vaguely orange tide line across my upper lip. Attractive, no? And, this year I want to concentrate on the tans that are less well known than say, St Tropez or Fake Bake. So, I kicked off lastnight with an all over (okay, I didn’t do my back) self application of Famous Dave Mousse, £19.99. The mousse comes out a very dark brown – in fact I had to brace myself to actually slap it on! However, once applied – and you need to go quickly here; any mousse left in situ ends up a stain on the skin – it actually looks like my natural tan colour. It dried very quickly so there was no naked wandering and it doesn’t really have any smell; certainly none you’d normally associate with self tans. The following morning it looked amazing – exactly the sort of tan look I like, with absolutely no streaking, not even on my feet. I did a good exfoliation treatment first and used moisturiser the following morning. Ultimately, I’d absolutely recommend Famous Dave for olive toned complexions or those with a smattering of a tan already. www.famousdave.co.uk

Seen this tan on GMTV and it looked great. I normally use Xen Tan, it also has olive undertones and leaves a natural looking tan that lasts for days.
