Herbal Essences: A Hairy Thought.

Herbal Essences is being reformulated to reduce 'toxic ingredients', according to an a preliminary agreement between P&G and founder of The Green Patriot Group, David Steinman. The contaminant at issue is 1,4-dioxane, produced during the manufacturing process of some products. My question is why it's even in there in the first place?

To be honest, the new formula didn't work for me! Sure, the bottles look nicer and more modern but the formula left my hair feeling dry - despite using the moisturising one!
I am even more put off and shocked now to hear about the toxic ingredients.

You really have to wonder why beauty companies are putting such toxic chemicals in our hair and skin care products? It's really shocking!

Can't use their product any way. I think it's the fragrancing that makes my scalp itch like mad. I don't suppose any of you are old enough to remember the original Herbal Essence shampoo. Lovely, thick green product that smelt divine.

Long gone. Ah well. Probably full of all those chemicals we aren't supposed to use any more.

You'd much rather use Organic Herbal Teas on your hair than wash it down with nothing but chemicals that lather. They'd always condemned testing these things on animals, so the only logical test subjects would be us, the consumers.
