For those of you are complaining that posting about Christmas items is too early, look away now!

Yesterday I went to the presentation of Givenchy Spring 2011 presented by Nicolas Degenne, the Artistic Director of Givenchy Make Up. He’s very French and very charming and presented the look on an extremely forbearing model who had already been made over four times during the course of the day. The big news is the new foundation, Photo’Perfection Light Evanescent Fluid Foundation, which comes with an inbuilt foam applicator that is as soft as your own skin. I’m not even going to start on the technology which is complex, but it’s enough to say that this foundation is all about a light veil and nude effect with mega radiance. The new blush, Blush Gelee, also has an inbuilt sponge applicator, and contains a very high water content mixed with chromophore colouring agents and gives a cooling sensation to the skin. To be honest, there is SO much water in this that your face will feel a little wet until it’s dried through, but once dry it gives the kind of flush that looks both sexy and natural.

The eye colours were a surprise – when I first looked at the quad with orange, green and brown I thought it pretty well unwearable as a quad – but when I tested the shades on my hand the irridescence is such that they are gentle and extremely flattering – especially when given a colour boost with new Magil Khol in Coffee. The tangerine lipgloss though is so full of glitter than it’s a no-no for me – once the colour has faded away you are left with glitter-tray lips and that’s something I don’t like at all. The two lipsticks in a vivid orange and an orangey nude are far more wearable…unless you love, love sparkles of course.

Nicolas also talked about the waterbased summer skin tint thats slated to be a sell-out.
