I really wasn’t happy with my first attempt at Chanel Mimosa – it was patchy and I was unsure just how much to load the brush so I didn’t get the seamless finish that I think yellow nail varnish needs. If it isn’t perfect, scrap it. David Barton gave me a great tip when I was moaning about not being able to get it right, and that is to apply basecoat, then a coat of Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat and then start loading the colour. Somehow the coat of Seche gives a more adhesive and smooth base for the colour. I still needed three coats though to be sure of a solid colour. I’m happy with it now and any reservations I had about wearing yellow are completely gone. The shade has a slight shimmer to it. In love with this! See what you think…
