I’ve been burning this candle on and off all across the bank holiday weekend when we’ve had various friends popping in – the reaction to the fragrance has been really interesting. While one friend asked why my house smelled of Christmas cake, another was convinced she could smell Chanel No.5! Although there are accords of Italian Pomadoro green tomato, the notes that really come through to me are spices. It’s a heady summer incense smell – Myrrh and Frankincense mixed with Bourbon Vetiver, Sandalwood and Oud – with beautiful floral undertones of Rose de Mai and Chinese Osmanthus.
Notably, it is a scent that gets people talking, and while it isn’t my favourite from Jonathan Ward (I am a die-hard Idina’s Locket fan), it certainly is another beautifully constructed fragrance well worth discovering.

Once again, I must try this candle as soon as I get back from holiday. Can’t spend anything at the moment but I love the idea of this in the autumn or winter. Thanks Jane! x
