I’m a hundred times impressed by this little gadget that was flagged up to me by Sarah at Pure PR – I do invariably end up painting my nails on the sofa with my hands resting on my jeans (or pyjamas, quite often!) and it has, on the odd occasion, happened that I’ve missed the mark and ended up with a little splodge on my jeans. Annoying. So the Handy-Mat puts paid to all that – just slip it on and let your fingers rest and be as inaccurate as you want to because the finger rests will catch any residue. It’s also quite handy when adding drying oils or cuticle oils after the manicure.

But the really impressive thing is that Handy-Mat has been created by girls from Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School who formed a company for their Young Enterprise business programme. From fundraising to earn enough money to put Handy-Mat into production to their continuing commitment to keep it in production, the girls have already scooped up The Daily Telegraph Young Enterprise award.

They’re £3.50 each here: http://www.kosine.com/default.asp?page=cliche. Nice one, ladies – our future beauty entrepreneurs.
