The Estee Lauder Professional Makeup Artist Kit

Every year the Estee Lauder brand bring a set like this out for Christmas time. It was one of these sets that really sparked my love of make-up when my mum and dad gave me one for Christmas years ago. I remember being almost speechless that such a thing of beauty even existed – it was in a large oblong box and I can recall taking the lids of the gold tubes of the lipsticks and just inhaling the wonderful lipstick-y smell. I can’t remember the eyeshadows very well, but there were two blushers.. totally unsuitable for a 13 year old but I put them to very good (read, bad!) use. I kept it in my bedroom and kept everything in it’s place in the box..sometimes I’d just open the box to gaze at the products! It was my first proper beauty set and I begged for one each year after that and carried on getting them every Christmas until I started working and could afford to buy my own make-up. It was a truly unforgettable Christmas present, the memory of which has stayed with me always..opening the lid of the box and just gasping!

So, this year’s offering which you can buy for £50 with a fragrance purchase (still the same terms as years ago, but the price has risen significantly!) is actually a vanity case containing an 18 shade Pure Color Eyeshadow compact and a face compact with Signature blushers and a Bronze Goddess bronzer. Also, three Pure Color Long Lasting lipsticks, two Pure Color glosses, a mascara and two eye pencils. Also, there is some Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, four travel brushes and a companion case (whatever that is).

These always sell out really quickly so if you’re planning on getting one, gift or otherwise, they launch on 31st October at counters and on line, so I’d be quick about it.

Thank you for sharing this! My first experience with cosmetics was exactly the same as yours! Although I only got it when I was 16. I still had some things from the set until last year until I forced myself to throw them away. I hadn’t used them for years, but I just wanted to keep them for sentimental value!

I am always desperate for one of these, but its just the wrong time of year for me to be buying perfume and spending £50. Poor me. :(

Is it weird that I still gaze upon my make-up collection with the same level of wonderment as you described above?

  4. I had one of these, it was incredible seeing all this beautifully packaged makeup and the eye palettes lasted for years. My sister may still have one of the eye palettes going now… I loved the lipsticks the best.
