This is a bit of a moment for me – I’ve found a vanilla fragrance that I like!
Kiehls new Aromatic Blends come in four scents inspired from around the globe. Orangeflower & Lychee (that I would have put money on to be my favourite) represents Morocco, Figleaf & Sage is inspired by the South of France (and I hated it), Cedarwood & Vanilla gives African vibes and Japanese Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit is so fresh and so pretty it’s kind of in a league of its own.
Each Aromatic Blend comes in a perfume, body cleanser and hand/body lotion and uses naturally derived and sustainably sourced ingredients. The thing about Vanilla & Cedarwood is that it uses Ugandan vanilla, known to be deep and spicy and a very far cry from the sweet, spongy scent that I associate with regular vanilla. A tad of iris brings in an amber element and the Cedarwood, instead of smelling of that deep perfumed woody thing that I hate because it reminds me of old wardrobes is mild and creamy. Together they make a beautiful, sensual and warm fragrance that doesn’t smell of cake mix and I’m absolutely in love with.
They’ll all be launching at Harrods this month and more than worth a look.
