MAC Nail Lacquer: Skin and Formidable Swatched

I got a couple of samples of the new MAC Lacquer yesterday, so after my nail art went down like a lead balloon, I thought I’d quickly erase all evidence by repainting and swatching with MAC! So, the formulas are interesting…they’re quite thin in consistency which meant for Skin I had to go to four layers – that is usually a no-no for me – I have better stuff to do than spend the hours applying four layers of polish – but this is a really, really lovely nude with an apricot tone in the back. Formidable is a devil to get a picture of; it has a brown/red backdrop with turquoise and purple shimmer in the top – the overall effect is green-ish irridescence over deep red. I love it. In the pictures I have applied Lumos High Speed Top Coat.. neither polish is as shiny without it.

Oh and also I have only three ‘working’ nails at the moment thanks to a very low break on my forefinger which is going to take almost forever to grow out.

  1. CherrySue says:

Formidable is one of my all time favourite polishes!

    Has it been re released?

  2. Formidable looks formidable – I might need to own this. However MAC really should know better than to use names like Skin (or indeed Flesh or Nude) for something that is pale pink – way to alienate and annoy a large chunk of your potential market.
