So, the news that Coca Cola are heading to nutraceutical drinks to be sold under the Oenobil brand is interesting. It seems that it will not be sold under their Coca Cola label which is somewhat disappointing since I love a Diet Coke and if they put some beauty boosters in that I imagine that everyone would be pretty happy, whether they work or not.
But, I have to admit that I’m not sold on beauty drinks in general. Isn’t it enough that we have to contend with millions of claims about creams, serums and lotions that we’re expected to buy to look younger without adding drinks into the mix? Beauty drinks are nothing new but unless there is an increasing market for them then I can’t see why Coca Cola would get involved, which in turn means that more women are thinking ‘Aha! if I drink this, I will be more beautiful’ or variations thereof. I think it is pretty safe to say that any enhanced beauty that comes via a drink will be so negligable as to be un-noticable, in which case, save your pennies and stick to the real thing.
According to various interwebby reports, the drinks can help you lose weight. Can I just point out that eating less also does this and actually saves you money. #justsayin
