Bobbi Brown Skin Perfecting Retouching Powder

Bobbi Brown Skin Perfecting Retouching Powder

The Retouching Powders from Bobbi Brown really make you acknowledge that this is a range from a make-up artist. They’re for the consumer who loves to put detail into their look and each one does a different thing to enhance the complexion. There is White to illuminate and brighten, Pink to counteract sallow undertones, Yellow to tone down redness, Peach to warm light skin tones and Rose to give a flush of colour to deep skin tones.

They are extremely finely milled and contain Zea Mays Starch and Zinc Stearate as well as natural mineral powders. I didn’t find them at all drying. I have to say that I haven’t quite see the effect on my skin but when I tried them the light was low and and it is now completely dark so I don’t think I’ll really see properly til tomorrow. Fans of the perfect base will love this; but at £25 a pot, I think only you will be able to know if that nuance is worth it.

Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder

The Brightening Finishing Powder might be a better bet for a subtle illumination although I’m really not crazy about the far corner colour of sparkling white. It can only mean one thing – glitter face!

Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow

My camera doesn’t want to pick up the sparkle on these, but they are sooooo shimmery! There is one new shade; Gold Star and the others are already in existence. It’s the Bobbi Brown ‘before-spring’ look when you just want to rev your look up a bit but aren’t quite ready to leave the winter smoky eye behind. They’re £20 each.

Nail Polish in Pink Valentine and Valentine Red

You can probably guess these shades are destined for February by their names; if I was feeling adventurous, I think I’d colour-block them together on each nail because they’re the best matching clash I’ve seen for a while. They are on sneaky sale from January 15th at Selfridges if you want to be the early bird.

Sheer Color Cheek Tint

Sheer Color Cheek Tint

So far, this is the little thing that’s blown my beauty socks off! It’s a gorgeously sheer cheek tint in the brightest cherry red, called Sheer Cherry. I’ve always wanted to experiment with red blush and this is the perfect starting point. It’s light, sheer and weightless but still gives cheeks a proper pop of healthy colour that’s so pretty; it doesn’t really fade to pink but stays red in a kind of Nordic, just come in from skiing/skating/snowboarding flush that just looks really attractive and natural. It’s £18 and comes out as part of the Pink Red collection in February.

Bobbi-Brown-Spring-012I’ll show the Pink & Red glosses tomorrow; there’s a ‘safe’ red – yay!
