The GOSH City Palettes are so thoughtfully designed – a fairly accurate colour chart on the packaging is such a good idea and inside, the colours are smoothly inserted. I’ve noticed with some very premium brands that their pans are often wonky which you really don’t expect, so if a budget friendly brand like GOSH can get it so perfect, then others really have no excuses for out of kilter pans.
Each palette has a city theme – going clockwise from the brights are: To Play With In Vegas, To Have Fun With In LA and To Enjoy In New York.
When it comes to swatching, I found these textures to be quite powdery and I think you would certainly need a primer underneath to keep them as long stayers. When I swatch, it’s always an indication of longevity if they’re tough to get off my arm – these colours literally just wiped away with a dry cloth. I think using a good brush with plenty of pick up is key for these – I’ve done finger-swipes which I don’t think show how nicely they can build up but at the same time a finger swipe is usually the best way of getting the intensity first time around and you can see they aren’t all that intense.
With nine shades mixing mattes and sheens – and they’re a nice size – working out at just over £1 per shade, I do think these are great value palettes that are worth the effort of adding a primer and being careful with building up. Great colour selections and plenty of scope for a variety of looks in each one.
The GOSH 9 Shades Shadow Collection palettes haven’t for some reason gone online at Superdrug but they’re in-store now for £9.99 each.
